Turnkey implantation: what the price includes
22.10.2026 · 7 min read
"Turnkey implantation" is a promise of the full cycle: from implant placement to the finished crown. In practice clinics put different things into this term. We explain what should be in the price and which stages are often paid separately.
What "turnkey" means
The full cycle includes the surgical stage, the healing period and prosthetics. The patient receives not only titanium in the bone but also a chewing surface.
Without a crown an implant does not perform the function of a tooth. So an offer of just "an implant for a sum" does not show the total cost of treatment.
A full package means the patient leaves the clinic with a chewing surface. This is the main reference point when choosing an offer.
Ask who performs the surgical stage and who makes the crown. The consistency of the work depends on this.
Clarify how many check-ups are included in the sum. Check-ups after fixation are needed because an implant has no nerve endings of its own and does not hurt.
What the comprehensive price includes
- consultation and planning;
- the implant;
- the surgical placement stage;
- the gum former;
- an impression or a digital scan;
- the abutment;
- the crown on the implant;
- check-ups after fixation.
At Sorridi the cost of implantation and the crown are calculated separately. This is more transparent: the patient sees what they pay for at each stage.
Ask not only about the price of the implant but also about the cost of the former, the impression and the crown. These items form the total.
What is often not included in the price
- computed tomography;
- tests before surgery;
- removal of a tooth in the way;
- bone grafting;
- a sinus lift;
- a temporary crown;
- treatment of neighbouring teeth.
These stages are not needed by everyone. But if there is not enough bone volume, an implant is not placed without grafting.
Tomography shows bone density and the position of the nerves. Without it planning is risky, so it is done almost always.
Bone grafting is needed when the height or width of the bone is insufficient. The volume is determined by tomography, not by eye.
A temporary crown is not always needed. Sometimes the dentist leaves the former or makes a removable restoration for the healing period.
Treatment of neighbouring teeth is planned separately. Infection nearby can affect healing.
Treatment stages
The first visit is a consultation, an examination and a tomography. The dentist assesses the bone, the gums and the bite.
The second is surgical. The implant is placed under local anaesthesia. The operation takes about an hour, sometimes longer.
In most cases the patient goes home the same day. Sutures are removed at a follow-up visit if they are needed.
After surgery you must not chew on that side. Hard food is also off limits for a few days.
Then comes healing. The implant stays under the gums or with a former. The patient follows the recommendations and comes for a check-up.
The check-up shows whether there is inflammation around the implant. Early detection makes correction simpler.
After healing the gum former is placed, an impression is taken or a scan is made. The crown is made in the laboratory and fixed on the abutment.
If pain, swelling or mobility appears, an unscheduled visit is needed. Self-treatment is dangerous here.
Healing times
Healing usually takes 3-6 months. The term depends on the jaw, bone density and the volume of intervention.
After bone grafting the term increases. The dentist gives an approximate schedule after surgery.
The stage should not be rushed. Premature loading can lead to implant loss.
How to prepare for surgery
Before the intervention the dentist prescribes tests and a tomography. The patient reports all medicines they take, including agents that affect blood clotting. You must not cancel medicines on your own.
A few days before, sleep well and do not plan heavy tasks. Smoking is best stopped in advance, at least for the healing period. This reduces the risk of complications.
Do not come hungry on the day of surgery. After the intervention you cannot eat for several hours while the anaesthesia lasts. A light meal before the visit helps you feel better.
It is better to have a painkiller at home in advance. The dentist will name the medicine and the dose. Do not combine several agents without advice.
Plan a free day after surgery. Swelling and fatigue are a normal reaction. A cold compress in the first hours helps.
Do not prescribe antibiotics for yourself. The decision on whether they are needed is made by the dentist after assessing the risks.

Contraindications and limits
- decompensated diabetes;
- radiation therapy in the jaw area;
- some oncological diseases;
- insufficient bone volume without grafting;
- active smoking;
- uncontrolled bruxism;
- pregnancy as a temporary reason for postponement.
Some limits are relative. The dentist assesses the risks together with the family doctor or a relevant specialist.
Smoking impairs healing. The patient should discuss with the dentist how long to abstain from cigarettes before and after surgery.
Warranty and monitoring
The clinic records the warranty terms in the contract. They concern the implant, the crown and adherence to the check-up schedule.
Hygiene affects the result no less than surgery. Inflammation also develops around an implant if plaque remains.
Check-ups are scheduled after surgery, after crown fixation and then every 6 months. At the check-up the dentist verifies stability and the condition of the gums.
